LOVE – THE CENTER OF EVERYTHING
May this message help us grow into the fullness of Christ by learning to receive and release the love of God.
We live in a darkening world, yet God’s promise still stands: “Arise, shine, for your light has come” (Isaiah 60). As darkness increases, the glory of God upon His people will also increase. That glory is not abstract; it looks like love.
One of the deepest needs in every human heart is to be loved and to give love. People were created for love. If they don’t encounter the love of Jesus through His people, they will try to fill their emptiness elsewhere, with relationships, addictions, achievements, distractions, or sin. People don’t just need to hear about a Jesus who loved 2,000 years ago; they need to meet Him through you today.
God has already shown us what love looks like. Jesus, fully God and fully man, chose a cross He could have avoided. It wasn’t the nails that held Him there; it was love, for you, for me, and for the entire world. Our call is to walk in that same love.
Jesus summarized the entire law in two commands:
Love God with all that you are.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
If those commands become the highest priority of our lives, we will see a move of God, a move of love in the earth like nothing ever seen known.
We cannot do this in our own strength. The easiest way to walk in love is to walk with Love Himself, Jesus. As you learn to draw near to God in prayer, Scripture, worship, fasting, and simple daily fellowship, His love fills you. You cannot give away what you have never received. Intimacy with Him is not a luxury; it is your lifeline and your calling.
The world is watching you. You may be the only picture of Jesus some people will ever see. The way you love, forgive, respond, and serve paints a picture of who God is. That reality is sobering, but it’s also glorious: you are an ambassador of heaven.
My hope is that we will all:
- Pursue intimacy with God.
- Allow His love to heal our broken places.
- Love ourselves the way He loves us.
- Pour out that love on the people around us, even the challenging ones.
Love is not weak. It is a powerful, transforming force that flows from God’s heart through yours into the world. It takes us from glory to glory and strength to strength. And because of the Holy Spirit, this love is not beyond reach, it has been poured into our hearts and flows from the finished work of the cross.

Two Commands That Frame Our Lives
Jesus was once asked what mattered most in the entire law. His answer was shockingly simple and incredibly demanding: love God with everything and love your neighbor as yourself.
God is love. If we claim to know Him but do not love, something is deeply wrong. The Spirit of God dwells in us, and as we stay connected to Him, His nature flows through us. Our calling isn’t just to believe in love but to become a vessel of it.
As the Master Potter molds and shapes us sometimes we might feel more like a cracked pot than a polished jar of clay. That’s okay, God knows exactly what He is doing. The Potter is not confused, and He doesn’t make mistakes. He is shaping us into something beautiful, even when we feel squeezed and pressed. Our fragile places do not disqualify us; they are the very places He intends to fill.
Let Love Flow
Picture your heart as an earthen vessel shaped like a heart, full of cracks and fractures. Life has wounded you. People have disappointed you. Choices, your own and others’, have left marks.
Yet Jesus has a plan for every broken place. He pours His love into those cracks like liquid gold. Instead of hardening your heart, He softens it so His love can soak in and flow out.
Think of the jar of costly perfume that had to be broken for its fragrance to fill the room. The breaking made way for the pouring. In the same way, God does not waste your pain. When surrendered to Him, it becomes an opening for His love to flow to others.
There comes a point when we must not keep revisiting old wounds. Grief is real and emotions are God-given, but we cannot build our lives around them. At some point we say, “Enough. I’m moving forward.”
The Bride of Christ
Scripture calls us the bride of Christ. A bride’s heart is fixed on her Bridegroom. Our preparation for the wedding is simple, but not always easy: we learn to love.
The Bible gives us a tangible description of what love looks like: it is patient, kind, humble, selfless, slow to anger, and quick to forgive. It doesn’t keep score. It rejoices in truth. It never gives up, never loses faith, and keeps on going.
These aren’t just pretty words for weddings; they are a checklist for our daily lives. As we walk down the aisle of life toward our Heavenly Bridegroom, we are called to live in obedience to His command: walk in love.
God is profoundly committed to His people, broken, messy, imperfect people. He says He will betroth us to Himself in faithfulness, mercy, and love. His commitment is not based on our performance; it is rooted in His nature. True love is always tied to commitment.
Guarding Against Division
The enemy knows that a divided house cannot stand. That’s why he works tirelessly to stir up offenses, judgments, and misunderstanding, especially in marriages, families, and churches.
When we harbor offenses, our capacity to love shrinks. Fear of being hurt again can tempt us to pull back and self-protect. Yet Jesus warned that stumbling blocks are inevitable. People will fail us. Good people have bad days. Broken people sometimes break others.
We must decide how we will respond. Will we pull away, or press in with grace? Will we nurse bitterness, or choose forgiveness? Our attitudes either agree with heaven or echo hell’s accusations.
Gratitude and the Presence of God
One of the most powerful ways to keep our hearts soft is to cultivate gratitude. We thank God not just for blessings but even for the hard seasons that have shaped us. We thank Him for the times He rescued us from bitterness, pride, and offense. We thank Him for healing us enough to love again.
Everything we need flows from His Presence. As we spend time with Him, He pours in fresh oil, healing, comfort, strength, joy. The more we receive, the more we have to give away.
Love is not optional. Without it, we are spiritually dead, no matter how gifted or busy we are. God is able to love even when we feel we can’t. He says, “Let Me love through you.” That is the beginning of freedom.
Who Is My Neighbor?
Loving God is one thing; loving certain people can seem impossible. How do we love those who commit unspeakable acts? How do we love the abusive, the violent, the cruel?
In our own strength, we can’t. But the Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of love, and we are seated with Christ in heavenly places. We pray for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as in heaven. That includes His love, His kind of love, flowing through us.
Love is the greatest human need. Until people encounter it, they cannot fully live. They will chase other things, relationships, careers, addictions, achievements, trying to fill the emptiness. When those things fail, the heart is finally ready to receive real love. That’s when the harvest is ripe.
Love: The Greatest Power
Love is not sentimental; it is powerful. Miracles are expressions of God’s love in action. Healing, deliverance, salvation, each is God’s heart reaching into human need.
Love never fails. It is stronger than storms, stronger than hatred, stronger than any weapon on earth. It was love, not nails, that kept Jesus on the cross. And He now commands us to love one another as He has loved us, sacrificially, generously, consistently.
GROWING DEEP ROOTS OF LOVE
The Apostle Paul’s prayer shows love isn’t shallow, it is the deep root system of the believer’s life.
“Then, by constantly using your faith… you will be empowered to discover every dimension of God’s great love.”
Ephesians 3:17–19
Prayer That Shapes a People
In Ephesians 3, the Apostle Paul prays a powerful prayer for the church. He bows before the Father and asks that we would be:
- Strengthened with power through His Spirit in our inner being.
- Indwelt by Christ through faith.
- Rooted and grounded in love.
- Able to grasp the width, length,height, and depth of Christ’s love.
- Filled with all the fullness of God.
This is not a theoretical prayer. It is an invitation to live from the inside out, fueled by God’s love and power. We must be willing to allow God to do a daily work in us.
The Mystery Revealed Through Intimacy
The Bible speaks of the “mystery” of Christ. truth that cannot be grasped by intellect alone. Revelation is a gift of the Holy Spirit. He reveals God’s plan to unite all things under Christ and to include people from every nation in His promise.
The prayer of Ephesians 3 is part of that mystery. Our minds alone cannot contain it; our spirits must receive it. The more time we spend with Jesus, the more the Holy Spirit opens our understanding. We begin to live, speak, and minister out of love rather than theory.
The World is Looking for Love
People have heard about Jesus. Many have even attended church. But what they are looking for is the real thing, authentic love lived out in daily life.
Paul told the Corinthians that they were like living letters, read by everyone. Our lives are letters, too. People read our reactions, your words, our choices, our relationships. For many, we are the only “Bible” they will ever open.
Some people are wary because they’ve seen hypocrisy. Others have been hurt by Christians or disappointed by church. When they don’t encounter love, they wander, and the enemy blinds them further.
In a world full of fear, upheaval, and rapid change, people long for something solid, something eternal. The emptiness in their hearts is a space reserved for Jesus. Even believers often need that space refilled with His love.
Love Casts out Fear
We are living in days when terror, lawlessness, and disaster seem to increase. Earthly systems prove insufficient. Governments can’t fix everything. People feel vulnerable and afraid.
Yet God remains sovereign. The government rests on His shoulders. He calls His people to stand in the gap, intercede, and proclaim mercy. At the same time, He reminds us that perfect love drives out fear.
Love is wider, longer, higher, and deeper than anything on earth. When we know we are loved, even death loses its sting. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. That doesn’t make pain easy, but it anchors us in hope.
Preparing for the Harvest
God is preparing His people for a great harvest of souls. Thousands of people will come running to God in times of shaking to secure their salvation for eternity. Church buildings alone will not be able to contain what He is going to do. That’s why God is raising up home groups, small communities, and believers ready to minister wherever they are.
The question is: are we ready to love the broken, angry, needy, contagious, inconvenient people He will send? It is easy to love those who love us back. But Jesus calls us to a higher way.
We need hearts strengthened by the Spirit so that when needs arise, we respond with faith and compassion, praying, serving, and believing for miracles. God wants to fill us with His fullness so His love and power can flow out to others.
Established in Love Through Testing
We would all love to be established in love instantly, but love, like faith, is proven through tests. Trials, misunderstandings, disappointments, and betrayals become classrooms where love is forged.
These tests often drive us to our knees. We kneel before the Father with our questions and pain, and as we do, His love is planted deeper within us.
Oftentimes the people who hurt us are fellow believers, other branches on the Vine. God uses these interactions to shape us. He invites us to see them through His eyes, to remember that hurting people often hurt others, and to respond not with retaliation but with grace.
Each time we choose love over bitterness, we grow. Each time we forgive instead of taking revenge, our roots go down deeper into God’s love.
From Theory to Experience
It is not enough to know Bible verses about love; we must experience the God of love. Scripture is living and active, but if it never moves from our heads into our lived experience, it can become hollow.
The world does not need a “storybook Jesus.” They need the living Christ revealed through His people. When we are strengthened in our inner being and rooted in love, something changes. Our words carry weight. Our prayers carry power. Our lives carry evidence.
Love and power are not separate. They are both expressions of Jesus’ nature. When love flows through us, power follow, healing, restoration, deliverance, transformation.
HEALED HEARTS
Healing is an expression of God’s unstoppable love flowing into painful places.
“…He sent me to heal the wounds of the brokenhearted.” Isaiah 61:1
The Bridge
Isaiah prophesied a time when God’s people would arise and shine while thick darkness covered the earth. That time is now. The glory of God upon His people is meant to be visible, tangible, and powerful. And at the center of that glory is love.
God comforts us for a reason: so we can comfort others. The pain we walk through becomes a bridge for someone else’s healing when placed in His hands.
Transformation
When we stay close to Jesus and grow both emotionally and spiritually, something powerful happens:
- Hatred gives way to love.
- Mourning gives way to joy.
- Turmoil gives way to peace.
- Impatience gives way to endurance.
- Harshness gives way to gentleness.
- Evil intentions give way to goodness.
- Unfaithfulness gives way to loyalty.
- Harsh strength gives way to meek strength.
- Lack of restraint gives way to self-control.
In His Presence, the fruit of the Spirit grows. Our hearts soften. Our defenses drop, not because people are always safe, but because God is our defense. In His arms, we no longer need to build walls to keep others out. We learn to get some gater skin while keeping our hearts soft on the inside.
Trusting God, Loving People
Jesus did not entrust Himself to everyone, because He, knew what was in the human heart. Yet He never became bitter, cynical, or suspicious. He continued to love, hope, and minister, trusting His Father completely.
If we rely on people to be perfect, we will always be disappointed. When we trust in God’s grace at work ,both in us and in them, we gain freedom. We can forgive, set boundaries, and love without being enslaved by fear.
Our battles are never ultimately against people. There’s a continuous battle between good and evil. But we can stand with Christ in resurrection power. The greater our surrender to Christ, the greater the flow of His life in and through us.
EMBRACING THE CROSS
The cross confronts the flesh, but it opens the door to resurrection life.
“You must be willing to take up your cross daily…” Luke 9:23
When the Obstacle is the Cross
There are times we hit resistance in life and assume it’s the enemy. We bind, rebuke, and push. Sometimes that’s exactly right. Other times, if we quiet ourselves, we might hear God whisper, “This isn’t a demonic roadblock; it’s a cross. I died on that cross, and you will keep running into it until you die there, too.”
God calls us to embrace the cross, not just the cross Jesus carried, but the cross where our own flesh is crucified. Pride, jealousy, greed, bitterness, lust, unforgiveness, these must die so we learn to walk in the spirit and not fulfill selfish, fleshly desires.
The same cross that killed Jesus brought resurrection power. The same cross that confronts your flesh opens the door to a new level of life.
On-the-Job Training
Following Jesus means constant on-the-job training. God allows outer pressures so that inner life can break forth.
As we learn to flow with the river of God, we let go of the desire to control. We are carried by His Heavenly flow instead of our own plans. Wherever that river flows, things come alive.
Our part is to stay in the river and not fight His hand. We learn to recognize that even in the valley of the shadow of death, He is with us. We discover that new life always follows surrender. And, we discover that our identity is rooted in our Father. His Spirit testifies you belong to Him! “The Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us…” Romans 8:16
Created in His Image
From the beginning, God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.” Humanity was created to reflect Him. Sin distorted that image, but in Christ it is restored.
When we invite Jesus into our hearts, we receive life from above. The Holy Spirit comes to live in us. We become new creations. God’s nature begins to replicate in our hearts, His love, His holiness, His mercy, His power.
Of course we still have natural DNA from our earthly parents, but now we carry the imprint of our Heavenly Father as well. We become royal sons and daughters, priests and kings, ambassadors of another Kingdom.
Crossing Over with Confidence
You may hear a lot about “crossing over” into promises God has given, into new assignments, territories, or seasons. But if you see yourself as a grasshopper, you will live small, no matter what God says.
How we see ourselves shapes how we live and how the enemy treats us. If we believe we are weak, powerless, and unworthy, we will shrink back. If we believe we are chosen, loved, and commissioned, we will step forward in faith.
God wants to anchor us in our identity so we can cross over boldly. He doesn’t want us stalled at intersections, watching opportunities pass by. He wants us to move swiftly in step with Him.
Royal Authority and Divine Nature
Peter wrote that God has given us great and precious promises so that through them we can share in His divine nature and escape worldly corruption. That doesn’t mean we become God; it means we increasingly reflect His character.
As His nature grows in us, we also grow in authority. Heaven’s backing rests on people who align with Heaven’s heart. The more we know the Holy Spirit, the more we move as He moves, loving, serving, confronting darkness, extending mercy.
Our genetic link to God, spiritually speaking, cannot be broken. Nothing can separate us from His love. That security frees us from striving and fear. We can live fully, courageously, and obediently.
Shining with His Glory
As we contemplate the Lord’s glory, we are transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory. The Spirit of God works inside us, shaping our desires, motives, and actions. We are not trying to imitate Jesus from the outside; we are being changed from within.
This transformation is not instant, but it is real. Our part is to respond, to yield, to cooperate. We practice obedience. We act on what we know. We step into opportunities to love, pray, and serve.
Encouragement as You Love
Love fuels power. As you walk in love, God’s works flow naturally through you.
“The person who follows me in faith… will do the same mighty miracles I do.” John 14:12
The same Jesus who promised we would do His works, and even greater works, has not changed. We are called to live as carriers of His presence and power.
Love truly is an unstoppable force. It flows from God’s heart into yours and then out into the world.
May we become vessels of love that change atmospheres and touch lives.
Keep going. Keep yielding. Keep loving. The greatest commandment is the answer to the greatest need, and God has chosen you to carry that answer.
